Well known in bluegrass, folk and jam circles, the Mousetrap is a favorite among music goers, bringing them right downtown into the heart of the city. While happy hour boasts plenty of downtown professionals, when the lights go low in the city, the Mousetrap stage area is body-to-body pressed with dancers moving nightly to a mix of local and regional acts playing mostly original tunes. The intimate 21+ tavern space may be smaller than some, but those loyal to the Trap love being at eye-level with the entertainment. Other attractions like the pool table, dartboards, big screen movies and Sunday Open Mics with Caleb Horne bring the crowds in, but the firm “no cover” policy – that keeps ‘em coming back.
